Just your usual Mikoto and Kuroko's daily routine.įor the actual gameplay, it's similar to other French Bread's fighting game series like Under Night In-Birth. The types indicate which Blast was strengthened by said character. Unique to this update, the Blast system (explained below) is now based on the the Blast character you pick at assist screen (different from assist), which was split into three types Power, Combo, Escape. The assist characters definitely spice up the gameplay of DBFCI, and you will find a favorite or two for your character. Each moves typed as Attack (mundane attack) SP Attack (unique attack) and Defense (defensive moves). There's short bio besides the character, which is pretty nice if you didn't know at all about that character, and various color palette can helps the game's replayability (some palette are even amusing, like Shana palette above).įor the assist characters, it's similar to Aquapazza, where it have two command moves non-directional and directional. The character selection was nice (TAIGA), but it's kinda sad seeing some of the protagonist got shafted into assist characters. Of course, everyone has different gameplay, like Misaka's zoning game, Shana's overpowered-Ryu-syndrome game, or Taiga's rushdown-type gameplay, but mostly they don't have much gimmick in them except maybe Tomoka and Qwenthur's assist-based gameplay. Each characters got two specials and two supers, which is for me, simple but kinda lacking. There's 18 playable characters in this game and 29 assist characters, ranging from your typical tsundere-ish heroines (Shana, Kirino, Taiga, Emi, Misaka), token kawaii girls (Tomoka, Enju, Dokuro, Hinata, Erio), more heroines (Yukina, Miyuki, Asuna, Mashiro) boring protagonist (Kirito, Tatsuya, Rentaro, Touma, Ryuuji) to even actual video game characters (Akira, Alicia, Pai, Selvaria). Yes, you can have tag team of the most cutest girls to beat you up.
The 18 playable characters, featuring Shan-I mean, Taiga. Pretty neat, but I kinda wish there's more than three selection since you can get multiple same unchosen opponent for each stage. You pick either three possible opponent and go for 9 stages. It was basically a short pre-fight dialogue between two characters, which sometimes can be adorable (Tomoka's Story can be boiled as "everyone adores Tomoka or Tomoka asks a innocent question to others") or downright hilarious (Kuroko and Misaka's routine, Qwenthur's being drilled by Selvaria while "admiring" her boobs) and so on. The navigator was a nice touch.įor Story, it was revamped, from previous game's original storyline into basically Dream Duel mode gauntlet (Previously a different game mode, so they cut it here).
